CHAMPARAN RAIPUR CHHATTISGARH

It is
said that 1250 years ago where now is Champaran Dham in Chhattisgarh used to be
thick forest .No one was dared to enter to these forests. it is a belief that this
is where lord Shiva used to stay when lord Shiva wished to state his presence he
made a cow as a medium .
The cow
used to come daily to this jungle and discharge milk to lord Shiva lingam idol
and go back to her place. And when the milk man use to take out milk from the
cow nothing was left. One day the milk man got a doubt he followed the cow and
saw her discharging milk on the idol.
The next
day the milk man took the cow to the king and told him everything .slowly the
news was in mouth of all the villagers and together the villagers with the help
of the king constructed the temple and people from nearby places started coming
to visit this temple
There are two temples dedicated to Shri Mahaprabhuji in Champaran. The first one is known as Prakatya Baithakji Mandir ,The second Baithakji is Mool Prakatya that is normally known as Chatti Baithak .
A small Stream of Mahanadi river flows near the temple which is believed to be from yamuna river and worshipped .Mahaprabhuji's Prakatya Utsav is celebrated every year on eleventh day of Baisakh and many of followers of the sect gather at the temple to pay homage .
The annual Fair of Champaran is held with great festivities in the month of Magh every year .Large number of pushtimargiya Vaishnavas visit Champaran every year .
BHAND DEUL TEMPLE : VILLAGE - ARANG, RAIPUR CHHATTISGARH
Popularly known as Bhand Deul, this temple is dedicated to Jain Sector, as evident from three beautiful images of Tirthankaras installed in the Sanctum.
West facing temple is pancharatha on plan constructed over a raised platform.Mandapa and Mukha Mandapa are not surviving above the base where as the main temple has been constructed in Nagara style.
Exterior is decorated with Urusringas and Niches containing images of Jain Tirthankaras Yaksha –Yakshis, other deities and interestingly the depictions of erotic couples also. The adhisthana contains five mouldings beautifully carved with rows of elephants, horses, swans, music and dance scenes, geometrically patterns and kirtimukhas etc. Stylistically the Temple is assignable to the Rulers of Haihaya Dynasty of 9th Century AD
VINDHYAVASINI DEVI TEMPLE / BILAI MATA MANDIR / NAGAR DEVI @ DHAMTARI CHHATTISGARH
BILAI MATA MANDIR is popular among locals as well as tourists being a prominent structure of religious importance . People of Dhamtari worship Goddess Durga in several forms such as Bilai Mata and Vindhyavasini .
It is said that Vindhyavasini Devi Maa is sister of Lord Krishna
Old Tales states that once upon a time there was a King NarharDev, came here for hunting as this place was once thick dense forest area . One day when they were passing by this area the entire troop just got stopped by some supernatural force . the king ordered his soldiers to search the place .Upon exploring the place they found a structure surrounded by wild cats .when the king saw this he ordered his fellows to take the structure and place it in the Capital . The same night the Goddess came in the dream of the king and ordered him not to take her from the place she doesn't want to go anywhere.
The Priest in this temple is from the same family who started worshipping this place years before.

GANGREL -THE DAM OF CHHATTISGARH
The perfect place to relax yourself & rewind your memories with your loved ones and just get carried away with the flow and sound of water . The islands surrounding this place is perfect for a picnic spot There are boats facilities near to the Dam area which can take you for a full day journey on these islands and nearby from morning to evening including the live food cooking on the islands "preference of veg or non veg according to your choice " on desired payments .the dam also has a garden .
It is said that lot of villagers were made to migrate from this place so that the dam can be operated .Also there used to be a temple inside the water of Goddess when the order was passed to the villagers to vacant the area the idol was brought to a new place and the same type of temple was created nearby the dam and still is treated as one of the most sacred places of Chhattisgarh .
